Young Artist Competition

The Mesabi Symphony Orchestra proudly presents its annual Young Artist Competition, aimed at nurturing the talents of young musicians through its educational and community outreach programs. This prestigious competition is divided into two age categories: 18 & younger for current high school or homeschool students, and 18-25 for those in post-high school education. Eligible applicants, who must be U.S. residents living within 130 miles of Virginia, MN, include vocalists, instrumentalists, and pianists. The competition process involves a preliminary digital recording submission and a subsequent live audition at Rock Ridge High School. Finalists are chosen for their exceptional abilities and have the opportunity to perform with the MSO during the regular season concert. Please note that applications for the 2024-2025 season are currently closed, with upcoming dates and winners to be announced soon.
